How to go about finding moonlighting

Hi!

My program has decided that we can begin moonlighting earlier than previously agreed upon. However, they have little to no options for us except the previously arranged PGY3 internal options.

My questions:
How do I go about finding moonlighting opportunities? Do I call it moonlighting or locum tenens? Do I cold call facilities and hospitals? Who do I ask for (HR, medical director)? Any tips for how to navigate the discussion once the door is open?

Contact local hospitals and clinics asking if they could use your help.

Cold call hospitals, Human Resources Department or Physician Recruiting Department , let them know you are a Psychiatrist/Physician and would like to know if there are moonlighting opportunities available.
