So my question is, how does one get into plastic surgery?
I have a feeling that general surgery is the first part of residency and then students apply to plastics?
Is that true? Or do you apply to plastics directly? If this is the case, do students first do three years general surgery at the residency school and then directly go into plastics?
What are the important steps to plastics?
I know that for other programs such as neuro research is fairly important. Is that the same case for plastics? Do board scores carry more weight for plastics than other fields i.e. derm/neurosrg/etc?
Thanks.
