How to include a research position in ERAS that was unpaid in the beginning and then became a paid job?

In my undergrad years, I spent enough time doing research electives that I no longer qualified to take class credit for the work. Knowing this, my PI decided to just hire me as a part time employee to keep working with him while I finished undergrad (if only all that work actually produced at least one publication.... Oh well....). How should I include that experience in ERAS? Should I include it all in research and just say I got paid for part of it in the description, or should I include it as research for the unpaid part and employment for the paid part and just have two entries?
