Hello
the way my amcas looks now, I do not have the prerequisites for some of the schools I am applying to. these courses do no appear in my future courses either. they are not anywhere in my amcas.
I may be wrong, but I am under the impression that the med schools look at your courses, and if you dont have the right courses, you are automatically rejected. am i right?
I am taking the courses at a community college now and in the winter. How do I let them know this so they dont reject me?

.....so did you take the classes or not? and which classes did you decide not to take for medical school?

Call the admissions offices to find out if it will be a problem. I didn't have a prerequisite on my future courses, either, but it hasn't been an issue.

you are generally incorrect. don't worry about it.

I think you misunderstood me.
Ok, the chemistry classes that I have mentioned in my amcas did not have lab. The med schools that i am applying to require chem with lab.

I am taking the chem with lab at a community college now and in the winter.
no where in my amcas does it say this. So if a medical school looks at my amcas, they will think I do not have chem with lab.

how do i fix this?

Most secondaries ask you what classes you took for prereqs. All you have to do is list the future courses there. If you get a secondary that does NOT have this, or are worried about screened secondaries, then call the school to be sure.

It is really not that big of a deal.

you won't be able to edit your amcas app, but you really don't need to. premeds take required classes during their application year all the time (myself included). from what i understand, it is assumed you will have completed all requirements by the time of matriculation. if this isn't done, i suppose that's what the wait list is for!
