Helloooo, I am beginning week 2 of my first year and I was wondering if anyone had study tips/strategies for physio.

I spend a good amount of time making good notes, trying to be creative about making tables and flow charts so that I am reworking how I conceptualize the topics. It definitely helps me “learn” the concepts but I feel like it doesn’t make me “remember” them. I feel like I forgot one topic the second I learn a new one. I also took physio in undergrad and got a C so I just .. don’t feel good at this butbI can’t identify where the weaknesses are. What do you guys do for review?

Phys is all about understanding pathways and how they work. I used to tutor some phys in undergrad and the best answer I've come up with to this question is: be able to explain the pathway to someone AND be able to explain what happens if a part of it is knocked out. If you can do those two things, you can probably answer the questions on the exam even without having everything perfectly memorized (which you likely won't have time to do in vet school anyways).
Ex. If you're in the cardiac unit, be able to explain how blood pumps through the heart AND be able to explain what happens if there's a leaky valve and how that impacts blood flow through the heart.
Hope that helps!
