Hi guys,

So I'm trying to retake classes so I can replace some of my bad undergrad grades. However, I'm not sure how to make sure classes are comparable.

Say I got a C in Biochemistry (a class for molecular biology majors).

My local college has a class called "Intro to Biochemistry" with a description that says "for non-biology majors". There is another course titled "Biochemistry" that is not offered this quarter, but that one is described as "for biology majors".

So how does the AACOMAS figure out whether a course is comparable or not? I figure the one for non-bio majors would be much easier...so if they are both valid replacements, why not take the easier one?

Thanks!

It's up to you to categorize your coursework and say what courses are repeats of what courses. I'd recommend starting an AACOMAS app to see what I'm talking about.

Things that can happen if you do things questionably:
- AACOMAS can silently deny the repeat, and you don't find out until after all the schools have your numbers
- AACOMAS can contact you to listen to your story
- AACOMAS can just accept your categorization because they're too darned busy to look at every darned line item in 5000 apps

Most professional schools will not accept the Intro to Biochem.
