So say if I’m not in the same state of where the school I’m applying to is at. Of course I will have to fly out, but do they make certain accommodations for you if you are out of state, or out of the country? I am mainly wondering about the second interview or the review part of it that people are talking about. Would they do this all in the same day, or maybe a day after the original interview if they know you are out of state, or international? I ask this because spending 500-1500 for a flight is expensive enough, and doing that twice is insane. Thanks in advance!

No, they do not make accomodations for you. You are responsible for getting a hotel, transportation, etc. There is NO second interview. The "review" part is where the faculty review your file and how you did in the interview and decide whether to accept you after interview day. You are not present during this process. You only have to go to the school once!

The interviews I went on were a single day, lasting a max of 5 hours. Most schools offer a few interview dates for the applicant to choose from so I suggest immediately searching for flights once you can that letter/e-mail. The packet the school sends you should include some nearby accommodations that give discounts for students. If you're an international student, I'm not sure if every school requires you to physically show up for the interview (pending where in the world you're traveling from). I know at one of my interviews, a fellow interviewee flew in at 7am, took a cab to the school and waited until the 9am interview. When the process ended at 3pm, he took a taxi back to the airport and waited there until his 8pm flight home. Short story- you don't have to pay for a hotel if you can manage getting a flight in and out the same day and doing a little waiting around at the airport. Good luck to you!

Thank you both for the information, this makes things a lot easier knowing that its just 1 day for the interviews, for some reason i thought we were present on the review day. flying out once wont be a big deal at all, but i was thinking to myself "well if i fly to 3 different schools, and have to go back twice to each that could be really expensive." But just going to each once isn't bad. thanks again.
