How to...oral surgeon?

Hi y'all,
I have been having a hard time deciding between pediatrics or oral surgery. I was hoping to volunteer with an oral surgeon in my area since there are plenty of offices but I feel inadequate asking.

Is it even possible that someone could shadow them, there may be liability issues or something.

How do you recommend I go about this?

Are you in dental school? Why don't you ask the part-time OMFS faculty if you can shadow them at their offices?

One step at a time. Get into dental school first. Then worry about specializing. GL.

what you should be interested in is finding out if general dentistry is something you'd be interested in. statistically you are much more likely to be a generalist than an oral surgeon (not by choice).
