How to prepare for interviews??

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I've never had a med school interview, but I am going to re-read the school's website/brochure, re-read my personal statement as well as any essays that I wrote for that particular school, and think of some questions I want to ask the school. I think that is always important, whether it's a job interview or school interview. I suppose trying to find out about current issues in medicine is important, but we're not going to be expected to have a solution to the nation's health care problems by interview time 🙂 Other than that, I'm just going to relax and be myself, that usually works.😉

Hi JulianCrane (my girlfriend got me hooked onto Passions).

To prepare for an interview, I would learn as much as possible about the particular medical school from literature or information they sent you, looking at the website and looking online (try google search) for interesting facts about the school or about your interviewer, if they gave you his/her name beforehand. Also, try looking at the Interview Feedback portion of this site. You can look for your particular medical school and see what kind of questions they ask applicants and it also has some helpful tips from past interviewees on how to prepare for the big day. Also, try to know a little about current events and current healthcare/medical news, which you can find in any newspaper or magazine. Good luck and hopefully you'll knock your interviewers off of their feet and get in. Relax and be yourself!!!!

yeah definitely brush up on the school - any info that you can about it (so you have questions and you know some things about it as well). if you can, get some info on the interviewer... read up on your own application to make sure you know it cold... brush up on the latest controversial issues in case you get asked about them
