Hello SDNers,

So I looked up NCBOP's website and did find their laws and regulations page. Are there any other resources people here are using...may be practice quizzes or a review? Any suggestions are much appreciated 🙂 Thanks!

Anyone???
Using Guide to Federal Pharmacy Law by Reiss and Hall. For NC law, a Walgreens manager told me he just read the Laws and Rules on the board's website. The FAQs might help as well. Did you go to school in NC? I went to school in a different state but I plan to move there sometime next month or the month after.

Hey Bannaff...Thanks for the reply 🙂 I went to a school out of state but will be working in NC!

I found this online course available here:
http://www.ncpharmacists.org/displaycommon.cfm?an=1&subarticlenbr=21

(If the link doesn't work you can access it via the NCBOP website)

It costs $300 if you're not a member ($250 if you are). I'm not quite prepared for that expense, so I'm hoping I can just read through the law book and pass it as I did for my IN license. I haven't heard about it being any more or less difficult though (yet I haven't done any research or asked).

I'm hoping to transfer with my company next year, or else find employment with an independent pharmacy in a rural setting.

Very nice ideas...I wish I had known about them much earlier...thank you all for your inputs! Good luck studying 🙂

Awesome! I hear so many people move from Ohio to NC...I'm moving to Charlotte. How about you? I scheduled my NC MPJE for June 29th...as soon as NC BOP received my proof of graduation (early June), they immediately contacted Pearson VUE and I had my ATT about 2 days later.

Guys when I asked the pharmacists around here everyone just told me to read the laws and rules over and over... I didn't go to school in NC so I knew I needed some resources to narrow my studies. (And I waited till the last minutes so I couldn't order any books) Here's what I did:
1. Read Over the Law and Rules posted on the NCBOP
website: http://www.ncbop.org/lawandrules.htm (dont get too bogged down it is very boring just look it over)
2. These Quizlets are very good: Idk who made them but look at them next (KNOW THEM)😀
http://quizlet.com/17927965/federal-pharmacy-law-review-flash-cards/
http://quizlet.com/16932777/mpje-north-carolina-flash-cards/ (They are very good it's weird as if they knew what the MPJE will ask you)
3. Read ALL the FAQ and understand them: http://www.ncbop.org/faqs/Pharmacist/faq_pharmacistsHome.htm

Good Luck!

Is there anyone on here that can provide some clarification on some questions I got? I paid for a few online quizzes and some of the answers I got contradict what i read.

I took the north carolina mpje last thursday. I had taken the prep course with tom thutt who teaches the 2 day prep course at campbell and unc campuses. I studied for a good week and half. 6-7 hours a day. I read his binder 3 times front to back while also studying the frequently asked questions on ncbop.org. Couldnt sleep the night before the test and was fasting due to our holy month. The questions on the test were 60-70% select all that apply and the rest were direct questions. Majority of the test questions were scenario based questions. I felt exhausted taking that test as i had gone to school in virginia and was not too familiar with nc laws. I missed two questions on the test because i ran out of time. I told myself if i pass, i will come here and give any tips or leave my story behind for whomever might be in a situation similar to mine.
Take out two weeks study time. Read the frequently asked questions and study them. Read the laws over And over again.
I thought i had failed the test, but got the results back today, I passed with a 76. I know its barely passing but thats what lack of sleep does sometimes. I literally felt like a zombie taking that test. The feeling of failing the test is normal once you walk out of the exam due to its nature of types of questions asked. If 90 questions out of 120 are select all that apply, that feeling of failure is inevident. But keep calm after the test, distract yourself for couple of days instead of stressing. Leave the rest to god.

I received my score from the NC MPJE -- passed by three points! Whew.

I echo what Omansari said. I did not feel confident walking out of the exam, but it worked out. To study, I read through the laws and rules posted on the BOP page and highlighted important parts. I also took notes on the FAQ entries on the BOP page. I studied my federal law notes from school and read a review book off of amazon for NC specific law. The book from amazon wasn't much help and I didn't feel like there was much federal law on the exam. My advice to those studying is to focus on the materials on the BOP website-- the rules and laws and the FAQ section. As for federal law, focus on control substances.

Just brace yourself for lots of "select all that apply" or "k type" questions and try not to over-analyze. Good luck!

I have a PDF of a federal/NC MPJE local college review course if anyone is interested. [email protected]

also have heard from many sources that the FAQ on the NCBOP website are a must read
