I want to live abroad in the extra year before I apply, because that has always been a dream of mine. I am considering doing research, volunteering, studying, or teaching English abroad in China, Japan, or Korea. I doubt I will be able to get a Fulbright Scholarship, and I'm also unsure about Peace Corps, but I might be able to be an English Teaching Assistant for Fulbright. I know that Global Experiences aren't exactly 'bad' (Assuming you are doing substantial and not just engaging in missionary tourism), but I'm curious as to whether they are seen as particularly good by AdComs. Could they come off as a sort of X-Factor even if they aren't Fulbright or Peace Corps? I have a lot of other ECs that I've already completed which I might try to continue with my time abroad.
