WOW! Hypertension is really a scary thing to go through. I have never been through it, but I do know of someone who did. What a painful thing to go through. Cardiovascular diseases are only getting worse because people are not taking care of themselves properly and maybe they just don't care about their bodies. I call this over abusing your body! Cardiovascular diseases are the most common causes of death today, but it wasn't many years ago. With time lifestyles have changed. This all comes down to, people not taking action on being healthier. People, this is doable, you just have to put your mind to it. This not only helps your daily life but your future. Below I have included a site that talks about hypertension.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

see ya soon!

Are we talking about short term or long term hyperT? If long term, increase urine output?

I heard that more people were supposed to die from cancer this year, ecclipsing heart disease.

The point made couldn't be farther from the truth! Have you ever heard of essential hypertension? What about genetics? Over abusing your bodies? Right. I have an idea. If I "put my mind to it," maybe I'll be able to stop taking this diuretic and my hypertension will go away. I've got a suggestion for a cure to HTN: eat as many spamburgers as you can every day.

Who's "we"? You have 3 posts...

Actually, spamming is a violation of the Terms of Service. I'm surprised a moderator has not removed your post and banned you. Here's another helpful link that you gave in your other post:

I got so upset by your initial post because nobody tries to "abuse [their] body." Family history is your main contribution to hypertension. You made hypertension sound like in all cases it was based on people being slobs that do no exercise and eat Cheesy poofs all day.

Yes, people are surviving past the age of 40 these days, thus getting to a point where hypertension can actually take its toll.

Remember, every time we cure one disease it just means that person will die of something else.

But with regard to the topic, I believe the answer is "decrease total body salt or increase renal function."

Lol, alrighty! I got it 1/2 right, and I haven't even started MS-I yet. Wait a minute, that's a bad thing. In a correct/incorrect test format, I would get 0.5=0! Doh! 😎

Exercise, maintain IBW, stop smoking, etc...

Then: HCTZ, ACE/ARB, Beta, etc....

These things can only treat HTN; you can not prevent idiopathic or essential HTN. You can only reduced your modifiable risk factors.

Hypertension is a truly horrifying experience, for sure. "Painful" doesn't even begin to describe it. The only medical condition I can think of that causes more symptomology, suspense, and angst than hypertension is possibly pancreatic cancer or maybe blunt trauma to the penis. WTF.
