Thanks to the AOA mentoring program, I have been inundated with physicians who have offered to let me shadow them.

I have been extremely fortunate, but there is no way I can shadow everyone.

What is the most respectful polite way to tell a doctor that you won't be able to shadow him/her?

I would start with that 😉

Agreed. End with a "Thanks for your commitment to the next generation of osteopathic physicians" or the like.

It's just like the advice "apply broadly." You never know what will happen. Hopefully this won't be the last time you have to turn down a bunch of good offers. 😉 👍

I wish i had your problem. I've had only 2 replies from doctors through AOA mentor exchange program and I think I've tried 3 times in the past 2 months to get matched. Luckily, I was finally matched with a physcician in NICU at medical school.
