I completed a general surgery sub-I at a top academic program in August. I just found out from the course preceptor that I received 'high honors'. The problem is, I won't receive my official grade from that school for a few more weeks. Also, my school won't incorporate grades from away rotations onto our transcript, and my official evaluation from that school won't be available for my dean's letter (I meet to finalize it this week). What is the best way to show what I accomplished? Since my school is pass/fail for clinical clerkships, this is the only way for me to show that I have received a top mark in surgery (especially from a highly recognized program) on my app. I am going to see if my dean's office will incorporate the grade into my dean's letter comments for that rotation.

Any advice? Should I upload the grade/evaluation form as an additional transcript when I get it?

Thanks! Treg

maybe you can put it in your other accomplishments section if you havent already submitted ERAS

I already submitted my ERAS. I do have an interview already at a great program (even without dean's letter/transcripts uploaded) but I really want my away rotation grade to be part of my app. I am applying as a US citizen from a Canadian MD/PHD program, so I think it will help my app overall to know that I am capable of achieving a top grade, especially when compared to US med students....

This is not an option. There is only one transcript, and your school will not upload some other document in it's place.

Best option is to get an LOR from the program with your grade stated in it.

Thanks for the replies. I will try to see if my referee will include that in his letter.
