How to study for calculus final?

I have my final in calc I next Tuesday and I want to start studying today, but I'm not exactly sure where to begin. We have covered 5 chapters, minus a few sections. What is the best way to learn this material? Thanks

I just had my Calc III final yesterday. I read my textbook, did all the examples, all practice problems (yes, every single problem in my textbook), and I reviewed my notes. Math is all about understanding the material and practicing, practicing, practicing..😀

Haha, I'm in the same boat as you. Basically, I'm planning on just redoing the entire semester over the weekend. Rereading the textbook for clarification of the confusing stuff. And making sure I understand how to solve any kind of example that might pop up on the final. Good luck!

Redo all the key problems that cover important concepts from each of the chapters you covered. Only way to get good score in mathematics is to chug through problems after problems.

My strategy is to actually read through the textbook and try to conceptualize everything that is presented. Then, I work on practice problems from my textbooks before getting a good night's sleep 🙂

Studying for the math final is always over the top. A couple things that help/ I have noticed though:

-There tends to be more stuff from the end of the quarter than the beginning.

-Skip the stuff you have a good handle on and concentrate on the stuff you don't.

Seems pretty obvious, and I'm sure you already know this stuff, but it took me a while. Then again I am still just finishing pre-calc and started in remedial math.

For calc, and my natural sciences for that matter, I would calculate the days left between me and the final and break down the chapters to each day, and then the final day (final's eve- oooo) I would do a quick- several hour- review of everything I covered over the week. Ie: chater 1/2 (thurs), chapter 3 (fri), chapter 4 (sat), chapter 5 (sun), review (tues). Grit your teeth and say 'bye' to weekend fun.

I think that is the key for those kinds of subjects. You want the last day to be review, not learning.
