I was reading another thread that talked about which class would everyone re-take, if they could, and someone wrote that he would actually re-take a couple of classes to study the material with more awareness, without stressing over grades so much.
This gave me an idea, because I also feel that the constant pressure of getting good grades comes at the cost of studying the material with less attention, which is somehow ironical : testing should measure the depth of understanding, yet somehow when we focus on grades, we aren't grasping the material as well as we'd like to.
So how do you do it, if you're one of those persons who is able to study deeply, while also getting good grades ?

Thanks in advance !

This is one of the problems with medical school. If you have 40 lectures on your next exam, but you've been jerking off for two weeks, you'll get a better grade by just seeing every lecture twice from a superficial view than knowing maybe 30ish of them in depth. It's just the way it is.

As for your question. It's quite difficult. Unfortunately, going into too much depth will sacrifice your grade. This is a common problem I see among many of the med students at my school. Spending way too much time on something that's obviously lower yield and they wonder why they got a C when they spent four hours on one lecture.
