if someone had Edema and comes to clinic and u measure his renin levels.

Would renin be up or down ?

i would say down because if u have edema and b/c of neg. feedback u stop RAAS. But another way to think is that it could be up b/c that might be the reason that caused edema. What im asking is in these questions r they testing us on negative feedback or asking us what causes the condition

I'm not really sure, but I'd guess you'd need more information. Maybe blood pressure or other conditions. CHF might have a different outcome than a total volume overload

I see edema as a result of something happening in our system for example transudate and exudate. I believe this doesn't have a negative feedback on anything.
In this case of edema and renin, this is an transudate edema due to decreased cardiac output and low renal per fusion. AGII and Renin is the cause of the edema. Not the case of edema sending a negative feedback to renin.
Also more information is needed in the question as @Ophthoseidon
That's my understanding but I am curious of other comments on this topic!!!

Edema can be due to lymphatics , low protein , renal disease , heart disease etc etc .. You couldn't possibly know what renin or any other variable (except total sodium , that will be high) will do unless you have more information about the disease process
