How to transfer to another program?

Can anyone help me with an advice about transferring to another program? How to do it painlessly?

I need to transfer out due to personal reasons. But my program is not very understanding. I am worried they might cause some serious problems in regards to this...

Unfortunately, it could be difficult to transfer if your program director doesn't support you doing so. Most places will want to see a letter from your program director confirming that you're in good standing (no disciplinary actions, etc.)

Do you have any interest in Child Psych? If they won't let you leave, your best option might be to slog through it until PGY-3 and then leave for child psych. This probably isn't a good idea if you really don't have any interest in child psych, but it's something to consider if you do.
