Tape cotton over the speaker
Put a resistor in the line powering the speaker
Why would you think that CVS would let you do anything that would result in you hating your job less?

Cotton and um, some minor phone surgery to the speaker with pliers and a screwdriver helps. If you have circuit knowledge, you can attach a baffle as well. If it breaks, just company property not yours.

Easy as I used to work for them, just press the volume down when you are on a call. It wont work when you are not using the phone. It makes the shift bearable as when I work I always turn the volume all the way down on all phones and you can barely hear the "lane 1" and "1 pharmacy call" bs
