How to use Cliffs to study for Bio section?

How should I use cliffs to study for bio section on DAT?
Should I make notes or flashcards? Flashcards seem like not enough details will fit on the card.
Do I just read and take quizzes ? please share your experience

I am reviewing cliffs now. I am just reading the chapters+highlighting main points. After every chapter I answer the multiple choice q's (they are at the end of every chapter). I also put sticky notes of the pages that I feel I will need to go over again later (i.e. photosynthesis and glycolysis etc...). I plan on working through the destoryer when I am done with cliffs +datavault and will probably be supplementing my studying with kaplan (but most likely ap barrons bio) as i heard that cliffs does not cover everything.

then do what works best for you. how did you study for sciences in college? use the same principle. highlight and take notes on the side or create a word document and type condensed notes for every chapter to avoid rereading the book multiple times. no one can tell you a sole method of studying most efficiently. you know yourself better than others. at the end of the day you need to do a lot of practice problems and you will learn even more from them. Also, you should already have more than half of the knowledge for bio if you took pre-reqs.

and you can't just 'look' at the book. read and take notes. use the same methods you used while studying in college. then test your knowledge with questions. you can also read breakdowns that hundreds of people post on here.

Actively learn it. Read, take notes, and draw out the diagrams of the mechanisms they talk about. Repetition is essential, you should be able to draw out a pathway by memory after reviewing it a few days.
