what is the highest yield method to use qbank? do 50 q in 1 subject/system or do random questions?

do people re-do the questions more than once? obviously if u do the same problems again you will get all of them right?

whats up ..i think it is wiser to do them all random. you will skew your results doing section by section. dont do questions on a subject after you have been studying all day for because that will skew as well.im going to do all the ones i missed at the end of my qbank and see how many i can hopefully figure out again. im not going to repeat the whole thing however when its over.

I've been doing 50 or 100 questions each evening. Random questions that include only unused and incorrect questions. No I don't seem to get the incorrect ones right on the second (or third!) try if I haven't actually learned the material. That would also skew your percentage, but I believe the utility of Qbank is in the doing not the percentage.

I know a third year very well who was getting 60 or 65% two days before the test and ended up with 240+. Not that that's a moral to the story, but again the utility of the questions is in doing them and learning from them, in addition to getting used to format and timing, etc.

My 1.5 cents.

For what it is worth, I started Qbank 4 weeks before the test. The first night, I did 100 questions on the subject I had studied. The next night, I did 50 of what I studied that day and 50 of a mix of the two days. Third day - 50 of the day's subject, 50 of a mix. I just kept adding subjects on...it was a good way to review. I also did 1 hour of questions from the Robbins Pathology book each day. I left myself 4 days at the end to do 4 hours of "random" Qbank questions.

This is the system that worked best for me. I fluctuated between 75-85% correct the week before the test, and I felt well prepared when taking the real thing. Don't concentrate too much on your Qbank scores; just make sure to learn from your mistakes.
