I've been using for the forums for at least 2 years. Finally I have something useful to contribute. This thread will show you how to use TopScore or Achiever for macs.
Why Bootcamp doesn't work for Topscore:
Bootcamp simply runs the operating system. But the problem is the Operating system is not permanently downloaded into harddrive. If you attempt to use Topscore running on bootcamp the program will not install because your computer till recognizes the file as a .exe. However, with virtual machine, the program allocates space in order for the Operating system to be downloaded into the harddrive. Virtual machine tricks Windows in thinking that the space you allocated in virtual machine is a separate entity. Thus once you use virtual machine, you can use Windows and all of it's program features.
Things you will need.
1) A mac with an intel processor
2) Virtual Machine
This can be found in (http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/4.0.8/VirtualBox-4.0.8-71778-OSX.dmg)
3)A copy of windows.
To start, download the above link for virtual machine. Once you download the software, download the software into your computer. Once you have opened the program you will see a button on the left side that says new. Click on the "new" button and it will prompt you to name that new space. During these steps you will be asked how much ram and how much harddrive space you would want to allocate for your new O.S (operating system) along with what O.S you will be using. I suggest allocating 1000mb of ram and 10gb of harddrive space (ram is for memory and harddrive is storage). Once you have created the new space for your OS you will see the new space (which you named) on the left hand side of the main screen.
WAIT YOU'RE NOT DONE YET.
If you start that Operating system. You will get a message that says Fatal error insert CD. Before clicking on that new icon, place your windows CD into the drive THEN click on the icon. Once the CD is inserted and you clicked on the icon, you will be prompted on the installation of windows into that new space.
Once your down downloading windows into the space. Simply go to the Topscore site and download the program and install it (while in windows).
And congrats you have a working copy of topscore running on Windows running on a Mac. Cheers 👍
