I have more than one acceptance, and I know which school I will be putting my deposit down on. How do I turn the other one down? Is there a formal withdrawal process through AACOMAS or do I just not deposit on the 15th? I don't want to be rude to the school. Do I email them and tell them I'm not accepting their acceptance? I just want to make sure I do this correctly.

I withdrew from all my DO schools and 2 MD schools yesterday. I simply e-mailed the admissions office and told them that I had received an acceptance from one of my top choices and wanted to withdraw my application from further consideration. I also wrote that I appreciated them giving me full consideration. You can call too, but I prefer putting everything in writing.

It's nothing to it. Just be polite. If you know that you will never choose that school over another then why waste their time. They can be looking at other applications. Hope this helped.

Congrats btw.

This.

Indeed, I wrote e-mails to schools I had IIs/acceptances from.

The ones I really struggled to withdraw from got exceedingly kind notices. 🙂

Just email them and don't pay the deposit. There's no formal process.
