My husband will be interviewing/touring a graduate school in NY. We are from the west coast and will be in New York for a week in September. Do I send an ITA to the schools I've applied to? Also, how do I word it? Do I mention why? Or just keep it brief and state that I'm in the area.

Thanks!

In my opinion it is premature to send an ITA letter if you have not yet been offered an interview

I think the order seems random to premeds, but I'm sure it's not random to the adcoms actually reviewing the applications
Right, so a request like this would expect the committee who reviews applications to respond to "hey, this person wants her interview NOW, let's search for her application, see if it's complete, and review it so she can interview now." It may turn out that they aren't going to offer an interview to this applicant. Then would she feel sorry that she asked, or feel that because she rushed them they turned her down?
Let the system proceed in its own order, whatever the order is for that school.
