I’ve noticed a lot of students here asking about Letters of Interest and Letters of Intent. These don’t need to be complicated or overthought. A simple, professional letter is all schools want to see — usually one page or less. The key is to thank the school, explain why you’re interested, and either share an update or, if you don’t have updates, remind them it’s one of your top choices.
To make it easier, here are two clear formats — one if you have updates to include, and one if you don’t:

AADSAS ID / DENTPIN: [123456789]

Dear Committee Members,
I am writing to share my continued interest in [School Name]. I feel it is a great fit for me because [insert reason here].
Since submitting my application I have [briefly describe updates such as new shadowing, volunteering, research, or DAT scores]. These experiences have strengthened my preparation for dental school.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,

Dear Committee Members,
I am writing to share my continued interest in [School Name]. I feel it is a great fit for me because [insert reason here].
Even though I do not have major updates since my application, I want to express that [School Name] remains one of my top choices and I would be honored to attend.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
[Your Full Name]
Tip: Always include your AADSAS ID or DENTPIN at the top. Keep the letter to one page max. Schools want something simple and to the point.
Hope this saves some stress for anyone working on their letters.
