Other OT-Related Information How to write a statement of interest for graduate assistantship position?

I am applying to an OT program where i can also apply for a graduate assistantship position. It just says "cover letter/ statement of interest" I am not sure how to exactly write my statement of interest- I have never had an assistantship or research position before. Any help would be appreciated

Just like any application- they probably want to see if you are the right fit or not based on interest and professional demeanor abilities. Write why you want to do research and what why you will excel in it. Specificity is always better. Cater to your audience.
