Like many things that have to do with admissions, I am sure that most schools have some secret system to the waitlist. However, will a school ever tell you where you are on the waitlist? I have heard people say before, "well I was number 1 on the waitlist right before school started and didn't end up getting in.." But at this point in the game, do you think they will tell you? Do you think it has to do when you interviewed and/or where you rank on their list?

I'm curious too! Also, what sort of communication you are supposed to maintain with schools. Just one letter that you would like to remain on waitlist or should you stay in constant contact?

i called uk yesterday to ask them if they had ranked the alternate list. Missy told me that it hadn't been ranked yet but it would be ranked sometime around the 1st of the yr.

did she say whether they will reveal your ranking and how often you should communicate with them?

Hey guys..I was waitlisted last year on Dec 1st and was never told my position until around Feb...then I got a phone call a week later stating that I had been accepted. Also, the entire time I was on the waitlist I would call and check on my status about every 2 weeks at first and then at the beginning of Feb every week. I don't know if that helped my chances at all but I just wanted to make sure that they knew I was genuinely interested in UK and really wanted to attend.

Also, I am an out of state student, if that helps any because I think there are 2 separate lists (one for in state and out of state).

Good luck and don't give up hope 👍
