I am thinking of taking a part time quarter and then finishing my degree over the summer. I predict that this plan will result in a higher GPA because I will dodge two professors "known" for being very stingy with A's (~6/120).

How do admissions view taking a part time quarter? (I will not be sitting around doing nothing. I still have clinical and teaching duties)

I am also considering preparing for the MCAT over my part time quarter and taking it a month into summer.

Thanks a lot! You thoughts will be much appreciated.

EDIT: My title says "quarters" but I plan to take only one part time quarter.

It will be fine. Just do well in the courses you're taking. Realize that if you've taken multiple pre-med requirements over the summer, though, that med schools are often wise to this and know that it's sometimes easier to get A's. That's not saying it will kill your application, but not all will be unaware of this strategy. They were undergraduates once too!
