Just out of curiosity, what are your plans for the last year of undergraduate, after completing all applications?

Would you continue on research or volunteer? or just complete major requirements??

For me, I might volunteer at my local hospital while completing my remaining courses.

Anyone want to share their plans?

I'm in that year, I'm still in school, researching and volunteering and being generally involved on campus. It's not a bad thing to have things to update the schools on throughout that year. Besides I like doing those things most of the time, so it makes my year more fulfilling. It's stressful to interview and deal with classes so I'd cut back on your other involvement and course load, but it's still a good idea to do a few things IMO.

How many classes and credit hours are you taking this semester?

👍.

6 classes (16 credit hours), but some of them are really easy. Band hardly counts as a class, and my research is a 3 hour class. I also have a class that I just have to go and listen, no tests or homework. The other 3 are the only ones that I really think of as classes. It's really just stressful trying not to miss band practice or lectures.

I would always continue working on ECs. you never know if you're going to get accepted or not. You should always work on improving your application until you know you don't have to apply again.

For the thread title, I've been in my senior year for the past 3 years (seeing I'll graduate with 187 hours). As for my last year, currently in it now, all I can do is worry about applications (waiting for interviews and such). That takes away from study time, which causes me to scrabble for tests, that in turn takes away from time I had planned on using for volunteer or shadowing. All I can say is that this (application) process stinks.

It's hard to balance interviews, school work, activites all at once, but they need to be done.

In my senior year now. Last year of intercollegiate sports (club or otherwise), so I'll be working on making it a great last year. Doubting I'll have time to do much more than intramurals while in med school so gotta enjoy it while I can. Also, may do some more volunteering at various places, or something.

I think senior year should be the most fun!😉 So the summer before senior year will start i plan to relax take minimum number of classes, probably will go bungee jump, sky dive, will go camping, will fall in love and will have a beautiful romance, do bunch of sport activities, learn how to skate board, list goes on and on... During school year i will study, do EC, more research and other boring stuff.... Yes, and at the winter i'll get a season pass for snowboarding, and will try to do the craziest stuff w/ my board 😉))

Depends when you're applying. Senior year will be hell for me.

Will med schools look at your senior year grades after they give you an acceptance?

i don't know about every school, but most schools require a final transcript.

i've done my overloading for now... I'm taking minimal credits this year while playing every sport possible and running our school's premed club as president!

good for you!

I'm taking as little credits as possible to keep my $$$, continuing to volunteer at the ER but only for personal enjoyment, keeping up with research because it's my only income (unless I get a better paying job somewhere else in the spring), and trying to sleep/have fun as much as possible. And watch football and go to games. I want to actually go somewhere fun for spring break this year, too.
And I'm dropping the pre-med club 👎 as soon as I get accepted.

Pretty easy year academically...13 credits in the Fall and 12 in the Spring. Only 3 sciences in total.
Other EC's include Vice-President of the Hispanic Club, intramurals chair and scholarship chair of my fraternity and biology lab instructor. Unfortunately, I had to drop my volunteering at the hospital but I felt like I wouldn't get much more out of it anyways. If I don't get in this cycle, I might become an EMT or nursing aide.
