I'm starting to freak out and could use some perspective, either way. My primary app was verified in late June, I completed my final secondary in mid-August. The issue: my school dean hasn't submitted my committee letter, so my app is incomplete at every school.

I finally forced a phone call with her last week, at the end of August. She assured me she'd have it sent out early this week, if not before Labor Day... Needless to say, another week has ended and there's nothing. I can send more emails that she won't respond to, but I always feel awkward antagonizing someone who's in charge of my fate, even if I'm justified.

So...how bad is it? I know some of my schools say it'll take an additional week for them to process the letter once AMCAS does. And this dean spent all last year warning us that getting the apps in earlier would dictate our fates. My stats are good (non-trad, 3.8 gpa, 520 MCAT), but if I don't get into Stanford I want it to be my own damn fault, you know? Am I being screwed more each day, or do I need to chill out until it's later in September?

I think that your extraordinary numbers are good enough to allay any of your concerns about being a hair late. Still, I'm sorry that your school is being slow with the letter. That's never fun.

It's out of your control now so you could worry all you want or divert your energy to more productive things.
