I can mostly hold small talk, ask where the embassy and certain landmarks/museums are, order food, and give compliments. I think I'll just be honest if pressed that most of what I am learning is to make the trip easier and I'm not actually getting any language software until Christmas. Maybe I'll memorize some questions that I might imagine are medically relative in an emergency to show the usefulness of what I'm teaching myself beyond a vacation.
