It's hard to take someone seriously when they contradict themselves no less than 2.5 times. I'll give you the 1/2 because you had someone else tell the administration, so your quibbling over semantics won that half point. But the intellectual dishonesty of trying to claim you weren't responsible should really be a -1.

I could be wrong, but I don't think he meant it as in he told the classmate to turn the guy in. I think he meant it in the same way you say "I had this happen to me". Like.... "I was at the grocery store and I had a cart roll up on me." I didn't actually make the cart roll up on me. It's not quite proper grammar, but that's how I interpreted it.

Troll? No, don't misunderstand me. The laugh was for the content.
The purpose was to attack the leftist/progressive ideology that seeks to silence those they disagree with through intimidation, fear, and retaliation while simultaneously preaching tolerance for different people and ideas. The problem is that what needs to be silenced gets to be decided by anyone, at anytime, for whatever motives they harbor. My point about "sorta racist" vs "seriously racist" was lost on most. Who gets to decide where that line is? Sucks for those who end up on the other side of it. But what if that's you one day, what if radical right ideas take hold in the next 20 years? Would you still support the kind of response that you took against this other person?

Someone brought up homophobic remarks as falling into the same category as racist ones, and claiming those people should suffer the same fate. There are a few billion people on the planet right now who have belief systems that someone could easily find "homophobic" if they were trying.

This ideology is dangerous unless it's your ideas that are in-vogue, right?

He also personally talked to the racist kid, then he talked to his friend and the friend talked to the administration.

This seems like a legitimate response IMO

I personally would not talk to the school though and all of my posts after that have been on calling out people for their offensive crap

I don't really get why you keep saying this. I doubt that OP forced his friend to contact the med school, so unless that friend was not in control of his own actions, the friend chose to tell the administration.

edit: or was silly enough to hire his friend as the "hitman"

Nice shot at me, but several of the 1st posts mentioned their view points on getting the administration involved.

It's really immaterial though because that action, however it happened, was defended.

I thought it was a good zinger. The insinuation being I interpreted it illogically, certainly possible. But I used the first few responses as context.
 
Seeing as I'm a minority, I would file a complaint with the school. Medical school often entails a close-knit environment that is necessary when students are being trained to be members of a medical team. Someone who makes minority students feel uncomfortable really compromises the integrity of this environment. ADCOMS carefully select applicants to construct a class with diversity, with people they think will really contribute to and enhance this environment. The administration deserves to know if someone like this has been offered a seat.
 
Did the administration respond to your friend that you had report it? My gut says they ignored the hell out of that snakebit email.

Nah I'm really not into all that argumentative crap... Honest. I just think you've got to grow thicker skin. Some people just won't like you for whatever the reason. So what? Why is everyone so sensitive? It is still possible to work well and on the same team with someone whose views you don't necessarily agree with. The student was dumb to have his profile public, but at the same time it was still his personal page.... With his personal views.

As long as everyone is professional where it counts, it shouldn't matter.
