How would you interpret this secondary question?

"Briefly describe your career plans in the event that you do not attend medical school. (800 characters)"

A. This is asking what you would do with your life and possible career if were not going on to medical school.

or B. This is asking what you would do in the interim if you were not accepted into a medical school this cycle. What would you do in the gap year?

I know this seems obvious, but what do people think?

This is very plainly asking what do you intend to do with your life if you are unfortunate enough to be one of the majority who does not get an acceptance.
