One of my interviewers asked me:

"How would you like the committee to remember you?"-- I gave him a big wide smile

then, he asked

"Is there anything else you think you would like me to tell the committee?" -- I didn;t know what to say. We covered lots of stuff about me during the interview. I knew that there was much more to me, but hey they are not going to know you 100% in 45-60 minutes. I though that he already had a good impression of me.

Have you come across a similal situation? How do you handle it? What do you say? How much is enough?

I am interested in what a good answer would be to this question too! (my fancy way of bump)

I could be wrong, but I think in a long interview like that the interviewer was just giving you a last chance to bring up anything you might have missed. Kinda letting you wrap up, hit any high points, say the thing you forgot 10 minutes ago, etc.

It's a good time to say why you think you would be an asset to the school. Like, I believe my experience at X will bring a useful/unique viewpoint to class discussions. (okay, maybe that was a lame example!)

Or if you discussed a weakness in your app, a good time to point out a strength to balance it.

I think it's also perfectly fine to say, "I think we've covered everything I can think of." 🙂

Good luck!

I told him about my strenghs (the things that will make a good physician: well balanced, dedicated/ persitant and compassionate) and then I told him once again why I like the school. but, i sort of felt strange-- it is so much like advertising myself. i felt like i came on too strong and direct-- in a way i feel ok with that-- but then i sort of felt self-possessed... what do you all think about that?

I had a similar question in one of my interviews. . .
I basically just summarized why I was 'the bomb' and they would be fools not to accept me. 😛

It did sound really sales-man-like, but if you don't sell yourself - no one will.

i too gave a big smile and said something along the lines of...
i just want them to know that im a guy who is just loving his time here and would carry on this feeling if i were to have a chance and attend this school.

just wanted them to know i am defintely interested in their school. that i feel is the most important point to get across in an interview.

I was asked this at my last interview as well. I summarized my reasons for pursuing medicine underscoring my passion, experiences and using this as an opportunity to discuss what I can add to the medical profession. Think of your last sentence of your AMCAS PS... its nice to leave the Adcom with a moniker that is indicative of your application. Of course a big smile is always helpful 🙂
