Howard vs Western

Howard!

In my opinion Western is too much of a new school.

Which one made you feel more at home? Which state/location/climate would you rather live in? Which school's philosophy did you like the best? Which faculty and students did you like more?

Western......better facilities

Western......better facilities

what do you mean by better facilities? when i went there for the interview, all i got to see was vet school facility and DO facility (and some lecture rooms). but school is actually what used to be a shopping center in Pomona which they turned into a dental school and there is no clinic yet.
at this point, i dont think you can say western has better facility than howard.

as a current Western student I can assure you we will/do have better facilities. we have one last assessment next week in our temporary building and then we will be in the new facilities form Jan 3rd on. We have a GORGEOUS building with more technology and quality than any other school that I know of. This includes a Cerec machine, top of the line hand pieces (which we have been using already and are even being graded on our preps.. talk about early clinical exposure) and beautiful Hu-Friedy instruments. Private practice dentists would kill to practice in our facilities.

with that being said... the decision between Howard and Western has to be based on what you (the future student) is looking for. Go where you feel the most comfortable and go to the school that offers what you like.. whether it be research, a lot of clinical exposure, or heavy science involvement.
