Hi Folks,
Howard does not put many people on their waitlist and generally by this time, most accepted people have heard where they are going and have either given up their slot or sent in their deposit to attend. That being said, I have known folks to get the acceptance call on the Saturday before orientation starts the next Tuesday. If you are holding out for this situation, better have a contingency plan that will enable you to move to DC in a hurry.
The waitlist is ranked but no one except the Dean of Admissions (not the Admissions coordinator) knows the exact rankings. People are pulled off the waitlist according to their ranking so again, the only thing you can do is WAIT. Calling is not going to get you anywhere and only bugs the office staff who have enough to do with planning orientation right now.
If you haven't heard anything, be prepared to re-apply for next year as you want to be early with your AMCAS.
It's very difficult to wait but you do not have a choice other than to wait and work on your Plan B (what you are going to do if you do not get into medical school).
Good luck!
