(PLEASE PRINT AND SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.)
Thank you for applying to Howard University College of Medicine for the class

WE WILL BE COMMUNICATING VIA EMAIL THROUGHOUT THIS PROCESS. IN ORDER TO ENSURE
YOU RECEIVE ALL PERTINENT INFORMATION, YOU MAY WANT TO LOWER THE LEVEL OF YOUR
SPAM FILTERS AND POP-UP BLOCKERS. PLEASE CHECK YOUR JUNK MAIL FOLDERS WEEKLY.
We invite you to submit the following documentation in support of your
application. Secondary applications must be received no later than January 15,
2007.
Required: SECONDARY APPLICATION (DUE DATE 1/15/07)
Please download the secondary application by visiting
http://www.med.howard.edu/. You will see the link to the secondary application
(Acrobat Reader required)) at the bottom of the page. The file posted on the
website is capable of being printed through the Adobe Acrobat program.
Applicants must download the program from the Adobe site for which a link has
been provided next to the link for the application.
PLEASE NOTE: AS YOU PRINT OUT YOUR SECONDARY, THERE MAY BE TWO BLANK PAGES
PLEASE IGNORE. THESE ARE TO SEPARATE THE SECONDARY FROM THE APPLICATION CONTROL

We suggest that you save the secondary application; you may type or print

secondary should be mailed to use along with the $45 money order.
If you have problems with the secondary, please email
[email protected] and the
secondary will be emailed to you.
We must receive a photo. Staple your photo on the secondary application.
We will acknowledge receipt of your secondary application within 30 business

Required: SECONDARY APPLICATION FEE:
You must submit the fee of $45.00 by MONEY ORDER OR CASHIER'S CHECK with the
secondary application. Howard University does NOT accept the AMCAS waiver. If
you send a personal check, your secondary application will not be reviewed.
Required: LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
You must submit either: a health professions committee letter of evaluation, or
two (2) letters of evaluation from science professors. We encourage the use of
Virtual Evaluations or Interfolio if these options are available to you. Due to
the crush of recommendations, we do not verify receipt of recommendations.
However, we will verify your recommendations have been received, once you have
invited for an interview.
ABOUT HUCOM NTERVIEWS:
We will review application materials and will invite applicants for interviews
by email only. You will be given an option of four dates - usually Tuesdays and
Wednesdays.
Interviews will take place from late September through April 2007 or until the
class is filled.
Your application will go to committee when you have completed your interview
and your file is complete.
YOUR FILE IS COMPLETE WHEN WE HAVE RECEIVED:
1. Your official AMCAS application (You must confirm with AMCAS that your
application is complete and that has been sent to your designated schools.)
2. Your secondary application form.
3. Your secondary application fee (Money orders or cashier's orders only). No
Personal Checks!
4. (2) Letters of recommendation from science professors or (1) premedical
