OMG... Ok, so today, I received all kind of omens. First, as a woman, I woke up realizing "shoot, it's that time of the month again!" Then, I dropped my cell phone into the water on my way to the car. My crazy mom wanted to clean it up so she pours water on it. I tried to save it but of course, I still have to take my pcat no matter what. So I rushed out AND forgot my candies. No biggie right? I can get some at the vending machine. Well, during break, I went to the vending machine and almost $1.25. Luckily, I retrieved $1 bk. Tried again and finally lost 50 cents. 10 mins after the break, someone pulled the fire alarm. We had to stand outside for 15 mins in the cold before we could get in. By that time, hunger and cramp hit and boi, i was dizzy. I asked a girl for a piece of candy but she didn't have one. Instead, she gave me a piece of gum to hold my stomach. When we finally came back in, I was tired. I bubbled in the wrong columns and ended up having to retrace my steps. Needless to say, I didn't finish the chemistry and math sections. I did finish the writing but I doubt I would get anything more than a 4. It was elementary writing where I had to say first, then, finally, and in conclusion. Oh well, I guess im going to have to take it again in June. See u then :scared:

Anyway, today has been the most exhausting day in my life. AND I NEED A NEW FONE.

Essay was the worst section for me. Who wants to write an essay when they just sat for like 5 hours speeding through chemistry. Im hoping that everyone else has a sloppy essay also so I at least get a 3. My solution was kind of radical, almost socialism, so I think I wont get any extra points for it.

Heh, I didnt eat or drink anything either since I have bowel issues 😉 of course we wont go there. Drinking water is dumb too cuz youll have to pee and get chaproned out of there.

I thought taking it was rougher than I thought itd be but will def go for it again if my score isnt what I want.

I wouldn't worry about the essay as long as it was grammatically correct. I swear that the first time I took the PCAT, my essay was kick ass, and I only got a three.

The second time I took the PCAT, my essay was horrible; however, it was grammatically correct, and I got a 4.

I have no idea how, but I didn't try to give the 4 back and ask for a 3. So to be completely honest, yesterday I was concerned only with grammar and word choice.

I wouldn't worry about the essay because there is no telling.

I had a similar (crappy) experience the day before the test, though not as bad as the OP. I had to take the PCAT out of town so I drove down south about 3 hours. Once I got there I find the hotel I had reserved was terrible. The first thing I did was check out the lights in the room (something I never do, but I had study), and none of the lights are working except for one. The room was already dark and small as it was. Then they gave me a different room. Well same problem!! So the person at the front desk finally comes 20 minutes later with a box of bulbs. She tries screwing in the first one and the light still doesn't work. At this point I'm fed up so I ask her to cancel my room and I leave for another hotel. Coincidentally I get the same room number as the 2nd room at the last hotel so I'm a bit wary. This time all the lights worked except one but it was still okay and I was tired of switching rooms/hotels. This time, though, the people next door were loud so it was hard to study!! 😡

The proctor for our test must have been on crack or something cuz she told us the wrong date when we were filling out our forms, "today is January 20..." And she had problems just reading the scripts from Harcourt, she kept saying the wrong things!! However our desks were fine so I'm glad about that and no one was really coughing or making noise. 🙂

Ok, this is not my first time at the rodeo, but gimme a break.
The proctor had 1..........count'em 1 tooth. Imagine hearing testing instructions through that whistling garble.
Anyway, I had a silent stop-watch and she shorted us 10 min on the reading comp. section. So, after break me & this other guy had the guts to point that out, so she gave us 5 min as a compromise due to the fact that she had the "official" time. The rest is history. I'll see 'ya in June(not at the same testing site this time). 🙂

I had an okay experience. I had to drive 2 hours or so to get to the testing center, but I didn't get lost so I was pretty pumped about that.
They let a few people in late, and that kinda held us back. But that wasn't a biggy.

Oh and I know this is probably a nitpicky thing, but if you're going to waltz in late for the test, at least try to remember to bring in a pencil!

As far as time-constraints, I actually forgot to bring my watch, and I had to pace myself and did better (time-wise) than I usually do on standardized tests. I think it was because I was mentally freaking out and didn't waste time on any certain question.

i forgot my watch too, and there wasn't a clock int he room. I think i did better time wise as well because i was freaking out and skipped any question that was taking me a while to think about. i finished all sections w/ time to spare except for quant which i almost finished.
