Any1 on the OML for army HPSP and getting updates or know of a timeline? Is October the earliest at this point?
My recruiter said October 16th is the set board meeting date. Should receive updates after that.
How would I have 3 call outs for the October board when I was already put on OML and boarded last fiscal year? It is a possibility my packet doesn't even get to the board by the deadline and in that case it's a shame I may not even be considered for the scholarship. Your packet does not just roll over it goes back to the recruiter to be sent back up. Stay on your recruiter and ask for current updates every step of the way. Ask for documentation of their actions to ensure your packets are done properly. No short cuts. When they start calling you asking you for things a week or so before the deadline it may be too late. Also STICK WITH 1 recruiter! Do not let them throw your packet around to different people in the office. Have 1 consistent person in the office you speak with and make sure they are going to be there through the whole process. Good luck everyone!
Not really sure of your exact situation. If you were boarded last year and placed on the OML, the call outs in all likelihood do not pertain to the selection process. It may be as simple as a missing date, or a transposed social security number on one of a thousand pieces of paper. I know for a fact that folks are boarded and SELECTED every board and then there are errors found in the packet on stuff the board is not interested in, like your emergency point of contact.
Your advice to stay on the recruiters is spot on. Many times after the board has met, you've been selected, taken the Oath of Office, your packet is found to have mistakes (call outs). But because the recruiter has moved on to another applicant, they may not check up on your call outs, Not through laziness or hard feelings, they just get busy and may not check unless you ask them to.
