Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm worried about starting the HPSP process late. I'm trying to go through my local recruiter to start an AF HPSP Application but cannot get any response via phone or e-mail. Are there HPSP-specific recruiters medical recruits should be going through?

There should be a recruiter somewhat local to where you are, it's odd that you can't get a response. I don't know how it is now but I got a mass email from the local recruiter, and when I reached out to him he got right back to me and took care of most everything. And this was in March so I don't think you're that late in the season, although maybe the AF does things differently. If you aren't getting traction with one recruiter then try to get in touch with another. Usually recruiters are high-speed types who are all over a potential doc.

An normal recruiter is a guy who doesn't really care what happens to you, but also knows what he's signing you up for. An HPSP recruiter is a guy who doesn't really care what happens to you, and has no clue what he's signing you up for.

I dunno if that answers your question.

Seriously, though, agree with WDO. Except that you shouldn't call any recruiters....
