While I am a medical student I thought it prudent to post this here since dental students have greater experience with the HSCP program. I recently joined the Navy HSCP program. My question is, does the HSCP program disqualify one from the Health Professions Loan Repayment Program? From reading the instructions I have found it only appears that HPSP, FAP, or being a USUHS graduate are disqualifying. Would it be possible to take student loans to pay my tuition and then have them paid for under the HPLRP once I was out of residency? I realize it would incur addidtional ADO but I plan on staying three years after my four year obligation. With prior service credit that would put me at 20.

Thanks for any insight.
