hSDN Class of 2012

I would have asked too, but then I bombed my AP Chemistry Acids & Bases test today.

On a related note, there has to be a Scrubs GIF for every emotion.

That suck AH... At least you got top though. 🙂

Ah Scrubs, my faveshowforever . . . I am seriously considering starting a Scrubs religion.

Sorry about the quiz, AntiHouse. Nothing like an AP course to hand you your a*s when you least expect it.

I used a line from the movie 'A Knight's Tale' in my report on Geoffrey Chaucer, and I am wondering how it will be recieved by my teacher. #slightlyworried

She might like it. For our timed writing essay, we were to write about what the class of 2012 would be remembered for. I wrote that we would be the last class to graduate before the 2012 apocalypse and got an A+. 🙂

I'm re-watching the series from E 1 since its all on Netflix #sopumped.

In one of my ACT essays I used a Yoda quote. 😀 And then later realized that it wasn't actually Yoda who said that. It didn't seem to matter though since I got an 11 on it, haha. 😛

Come on Ceph! It's always C. Actually I think B is the new go to letter for guessing. My how the times have changed...

My dad's test taking advice: "Remember, 3 comes after 2 but before 4, and if all else fails, pick C."

It totally paid off. The teacher even gave 10 bonus points because she got the joke. WOOHOO!

Nice Cee, I guess teachers like humor, who knew?

In davenport Iowa right now, ready to get back on the road to Ann Arbor!

I know, right? Teachers are people too . . . Odd.

I am falling in love with your GIFing, Cephal0pod. Moar Plz.

I'll +1 for amazing seafood. Have fun INS! I am excited to hear your stories. Also, I am considering getting an iPad for college. Thoughts? I know you have one INS, so I'd love to hear your opinion.

I have the first-generation iPad, so my opinion might be outdated slightly. It is great for taking in content and as a resource. There are decent chemistry/science apps for it, and you can read PDF's with an app for the iPad. I like some of the news apps, and the games are decent. You can read books and watch movies on it as well. HOWEVER, it is not a replacement for a laptop, merely a supplement. If you have to write a lab report or a paper in college, the iPad makes it tough. The touch keyboard isn't easy to use, and even if you have a Bluetooth keyboard, it's tough to edit via the touchscreen.

To sum it all up, if you can afford to buy an iPad and have/planning to buy a laptop for college, it's something to look into. But, it is in no way a replacement for a laptop, at least yet. No USB, no CD drive, things which I imagine are really important in college.

Hey guys, back from campus day, had a blast, and want to revise my theoretical freshman class schedule in the btfb section. First of all, Ann Arbor is the coolest town I've ever been to. It's like someone took New York, Chicago, New Orleans, and very other major city and crammed the best parts of each into a single city that surrounds the college. The LSA degree requirements are a little (good) different. Basically, no matter what you major in, you have to become fluent in a language. All freshman are encouraged to do research, and many get published there first year. There after college prospects for jobs, grad school etc., are phenomenal. Going there for sure.

About the iPad. I love mine to death, all I use now for sdn, email, Skype, calendar, but is not a laptop by any means. It's more of a toy honestly(for me). I have a 1st gen too. If you don't care about pictures, then just get an iPad 1, they're probably dirt cheap now.

Glad you had a good time, INS! Sounds like you have found your college home.

Thanks for the helpful replies regarding the iPad. I have a laptop for college already, and my main motivation would be iBooks. Basically all of my gen-ed textbooks are online so it is quite tempting to go partially paperless.

FWIW: My dad has an ipad too and he loves it, but it's definitely more of a toy/web browsing tool than something he uses for work on a regular basis. I can definitely see how it would be useful for textbooks though!

Sounds like a pretty spiffy school, INS! I've heard good things about Ann Arbor too, my grandparents used to live up in that area and really liked it.

I love Adele, but I don't know if I'll be able to listen to this song without giggling now. XD

Got my financial aid letter from my top choice today, and turns out to be the largest amount out of all of my schools. Win-win. So, Saint Michael's will be my official choice. Or, to put in a slightly different way, I'll be taking my talents to Colchester, VT. (+ for anyone who got the reference).

Hope everyone does well with the last few months of high school with school and college letters.

We sure do have a lot of new and eager sophomores here....

Also congrats AHMD!

WooHoo AntiHouse!!

So glad you said that, INS. I just started to notice today.

Thanks guys. I also saw all of the "I'm scared if I don't become a ..." threads that have been popping up lately. Must be something that happens in sophomore year that I never noticed.

I figured it out! So we have 12 years of elementary/High school, 4 years of college, and 4 years of med/vet/dent school. That equals 20 years of schooling. These sophomores are in 10th grade, which means that they're half way done with their education. Mid-education life crisis. 🙂

 Brilliant. 👍 And yeah, I've noticed the sudden influx of sophies as well. Good for the future generation of hSDN though. 👍

Also, congrats AHMD! That's awesome! 👍

Happy Pi Day! 😀

Pi Day? I'll be honest, until I googled and watched some Youtube vids, I had no idea.

But I APPROVE! Pi Day!

EDIT: 300th Post!

I like to be more precise, so I'm waiting until 2015 to call it pi day. (3/14/15 - 3.1415)

Andddd this is why I love you people. 😀

Can you guys believe this mid-March heatwave? Not that I'm complaining by any means 😛 It's supposed to be like 80 here tomorrow! And it's only March! #mindblown

Yeah, it's awesome! Just went disc golfing, I suck, but it was fun

I am lovin' this weather as well. Went an got Ice Cream today after I ran. Best decision ever, I love a good dirt cup. They are tearing down the outdoor ice rink in my town, and putting up the fountains. Summer is so close I can taste it.

Also, disc golf FTW.

Disc golf is fun! I'm awful at it, I can't throw a frisbee/disc thing in a straight line to save my life, but it's fun to try! ...I feel like that's pretty much the story of my life as far as sports are concerned  With the exception of horseback riding, I suppose (it's much more athletic than one would think). 🙂

I agree about the horse riding thing. All my friends are masters on horses. (They train their own). I can get from point A to B, but let me tell you I do much better work on any type of iron horse.

Honestly, it is probably because I don't understand why a gigantic four-legged creature would take orders from me after I strap a leather object to its back and attach a bridle.

It is. I haven't seen very many juniors around. Well, juniors that are posting anyway. I'm sure there's some lurking around here somewhere.

I am pretty sure all the 2013ers are counting on not graduating. There will be a rapid influx on January 1, 2013.

Speaking of class threads, when do we venture into Pre-Med Allo and start the Class of 2020 thread? We can be the first without one thousand exclamation potins in the title.

And Cephal0pod, you need to come along as well. Don't leave us for the Pre-Vet forum completely, lol.

Only problem with that is if I do decide on PA, then I'd have to join the Class of 2018. Thought I would have longer to decide between MD and PA. Decisions, decisions... 🙂

Pssssh. You can't get rid of me THAT easily! 😀 I shall most certainly pop over frequently and invade the pre-med realm! I'll probably start posting more in the Lounge too. And of course in here, to advise all the high school kiddos who are freaking out about their futures like I once was. ^^

I know I don't know you outside of sdn, but I from what I've seen here, I seriously think you would like being a doctor more than a PA.

I'd say around the same time that the 2019 thread was made a year ago so that we don't get flamed too hard.

Honestly don't know. See the pluses and minuses on both sides. Right now, I know that I want to go into science/medicine, and everything is on the table after that. Who knows? We'll see what happens and where I am in a few years. 😀

Also just noticed your post count. teh Devil has stolen your keys!

Ugh, I hate that. Hope they turn up soon!

I've locked my keys in my car twice in just the two years I've been driving. 🙄 Such a sinking feeling when you look in the window while standing outside your locked car and see your keys either still in the ignition or on the seat. 😛
