HSPS vs normal loan repayment

Im looking into how to pay for dental school and I was just curious is it a good choice to pursue the HSPS (airforce) program or better to just take on the loans and worry about them as a civilian. Any Opinions welcome

The Air Force scholarships are extremely competitive to get, if you haven't already started applying back in October, available funding is dwindling down as we speak. To give you an idea, people have already started their physical exams for the entering class.

NHSC is a fantastic option but is much more difficult to get than the military scholarships.

One thing to keep in mind with nhsc is that you can only specialize in pedo or public health, so your options are very limited if that's what you're interested in.
