Page 199 FA 2012, under HSV2, it says it causes temporal encephalitis in the neonate. Is this correct?

Neonates get HSV-2 from their mom's genitals. That's why this makes sense.

In children and adults, HSV-1 causes more temporal encephalitis than HSV-2.

Also, HSV-2 causes herpes simplex meningitis more often than HSV-1. hope this helps!
