In 7th grade I used to pretend I couldn't read well so that we would spend the entire class reading out loud rather than doing actual work.

Ha! LOL In kindergarten, we had designated nap time. Sometimes the teacher would walk around during our naps. I used to pretend to be asleep and take a peek up the teacher's skirt. Someone told me that boys and girls were different and I was curious. 🙂

when i was 4ish, i wanted to be a doctor. i had a little doctor's kit and everything. but i also wanted to be a mommy, a dog trainer, a dolphin trainer, astronaut, olympic skater, and then first girl in the NHL, a teacher, a chef, a supermarket owner, restaurant manager, own my dad's shoe repair store and make belts just like my dad did. i think i also wanted to be a milionaire at one point, along with a broadway pit musician, broadway actress, pop princess, mega actress, and a twin, and an archaelogist, and dinosaur digger upper.

i think i started to go back into thinking about medicine during college when i decided to major in bio because i was good at it, and then i figured, why not be a doctor? so i looked into it, remembered my original plan as a 4 year old, and here i am.

When I was little I wanted to be a teacher (because I wanted to know everything) and a librarian (because I love books). Then I wanted to be an engineer, and I am. Then I decided people are more interesting than computers, and at the relatively old age of 21 I became a premed.

Always had "doctor" mixed in with the things I wanted to be.
In kindergarten, I wanted to fight forest fires - ended up doing it for 5 summers during college. Thought that being a marine biologist would be cool, so I got certified in SCUBA. Loved "Quincy" as a kid, so I worked as a path assistant for a few years. Special Forces would be pretty exciting, but I'm opposed to personal torture, painful death, and/or sand in my eyes.

wow, people are crazy on this site. . doctors, firemen, etc. etc.

I wanted to be a grocery checkout lady.

I wanted to be a ballerina from ages 2-7, but after that I always had doctor mixed in there. Sometimes I would say, I am going to be an astronaut, ballerina or doctor; sometimes it was doctor or teacher.
It's funny, my cousin and I would play doctor's office with one our Fischer Price Dr kit, she would be the nurse and I would be the doctor. Now she really is a nurse and (hopefully) I really will be a doctor...

I did deviate from my doctor path for a few years after college, I tried being a social worker for a few years. I guess my third grade intuition was correct, but I'm glad I've tried some other things first.

Playboy bunny - errr nm, I really think this came from playing house with my Barbies...naughtE house that is

I wanted to be Francis Ford Coppola.

"You broke my heart Fredo."

I wanted to race motorcylcles and cars 😀 Too Broke to do it

I wanted to be a journalist till my sophomore year in college. Then I realized that I needed to get over this whole "I don't want to do what my parent's want me to do" binge and decide what I really wanted to do. It kinda turned out to be medicine. Hopefully it sticks. Anyone else have that experience?

I wanted to be some sort of role-model

When I was little my greatest ambitions were to work in a restaraunt and also work as a cashier (I used to make toy check out lanes and have my brother and sister line up with their "items" so I could scan them). Well, I have finally accomplished that lifelong dream, but then I realized it wasn't as cool or as challenging as I thought it would be.
So I had to reach for higher aspirations. Luckily my mother went to medical school when I was a teenager and that got me thinking about medicine, which has turned out to be a perfect match for me.

True story.

i wanted to be a dancer. so now i am a dancer. and now i want to be a doctor.
