One of the school I am targeting to apply has the following pre-req requirements:

1. One year of English Writing
2. 12 - 16 credit hours in the humanities and/or the social or behavioral sciences.

As you can see English is explicitly written as requirement . Question is, will English counts towards that 12-16 credit of humanities ? If not, what are the some classes that would cover that 12-16 humanities credit ?

I would think most English classes, especially literature classes, would count towards humanities (at least that's how it was at my school). You could always contact the school you're interested in and ask if it would count towards that second requirement.

Humanities courses would be things like literature, philosophy, religious studies, art history, etc.
Social science/behavioral courses would be things like history, sociology, anthropology, psychology, etc.
