Hurricane effects?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
most ppl with no power. Doont know how i still have it. Good thing is no class last friday and none tomorrow. Sucks though b/c there are lots of down trees and rubbage. Enjoy the tropical storm/hurricane free weather. 🙁 Thanks for the concern.

buddy, I would rather take on a hurricane than another buffalo winter! That's why I'm heddin south when i graduate and pass the fl boards!
Glad u ok . How about the guys in the other school?

Hey There KerryDDS,

Thanks for your concern. We had two days of classes cancelled last week at NSU. We're starting back tomorrow though. I haven't heard of too many people with bad stories except for some people having their power go out.

Take care,
Jessica 🙂

From what my parents told me parts of Orlando are without power. This is becoming one of the most active seasons on record for the state of Florida..

yaaa, and the thing that sux is that hurricane ivan is coming up right behind Frances. ekhhh.... i couldnt even leave my house today, sooo much flooding,.... after a while you get cabin fever ......

Yeah I am stuck here in Tallahassee till Wednesday. School starts for us in Boston on Tuesday, but due to this Hurricane I m gonna be missing first few days, which I kinda like it, as it was boring orientation to clinics and registration of classes and all.

our power was out for 26 hours.... I'm so glad my saltwater fish didn't die...

We are in for a wet week up here in Boston. Hope everybody is OK down in Florida. A third hurricane is a too much. I think the weathers wants to send Florida underwater.

seems as if Charley had a job to do, but didn't get his fill... so he sent Frances... she chickened out.. Ivan got directions from charley and wants florida's butt...cause frances couldnt do it right.... Ivan... leave my florida alone... :scared:

yeah Ivan leave us alone! :scared: I spent all day yesterday helping a friend clean his yard. If Ivan hits I am heading to Ny or Boston... one of u guys may need to let me rent a couch! 😀 Back to school tomorrow... good thing b/c we were suppose to have a perio quiz and an endo competency today. Whew! Thanks again for the concern guys... I feel like we are one big family. 😀

Yeah, Trini 2 d' bone. You're only the second person, since I joined, to catch my screenname. Good stuff. 👍

I prefer paratha

I see Tobago got ripped by Ivan and the eye of the storm didn't even pass over. Let's hope he looses steam b4 he gets here.

Ivan's pretty bad.

I got a couple friends in Grenada, and I haven't heard from them. Apparently, they geared up with knives and stuff to protect from the prisoners that escaped.

Look out Western Florida, Ivan maybe heading there 😱 (Granted 5 day hurricane forcasts aren't always very accurrate, but check out the latest projected path from the national hurricane center)

I really hope that this doesn't hold out, my parents retirement house is in Port Charlotte (the eye of Charley went right over the house :wow: but fortunately there was no damage to the house  ) then Frances fortunately just gave the house a few more inches of rain and a "light" breeze of only about 30-35 mph. Now big 'ol Ivan may be heading that way 😡 . All that and me, my wife, and my daughter are heading down there a week from Saturday for a few days before it's off to Orlando and ADA (asuming there is any of Florida left)

This is really turning into an unreal hurricane season

Now we know why Florida and Texas chose to encode bullet proof homestead provisions into their debt recovery laws. It was the hook that was needed to entice folks to purchase homes in such areas. 😉 Seriously, all of the USA hopes to see a speedy recovery for their Florida countrymen. I'm just glad those Pacific typhoons don't move towards the Pacific Northwest very often.

so far this is the only hurricane that's got me scared... :scared: :scared: 😱 :scared: :scared:

It's not looking good for the home team here!

Ivan has 160 mph winds now!!! 😱 😱 😱

My friends back home: "You know Florida gets hurricanes, don't you?"
Me: "Yes, but the chances of having a terrible one like Andrew hit are very slim and I'm only gonna be there a year. I am off to the sunshine state!"
