I only have enough time to go through one of these books. Which one would you recommend and why? First Aid seems pretty scant for both of these topics. Thanks for your help!

I've heard that histology is low yield. That said I did buy RR Cell Bio/Histo which is 200 pgs, but I haven't read it yet. It seems that a lot of the material overlaps with other stuff, although I totally agree that Cell Bio is one place where FA needs a big improvement!

I actually like HY Histo a lot. I've been using it as part of my systems review and it's really shed light on areas where other review books seem to skip. Don't be fooled by the title, "Histology." There is pharm, physio, path, cell and mol. bio in there.

If you have time, get it. Otherwise, stick to FA, BRS's, etc.

Histology as a subject is low yield, but high-yield histo is so much more than histo. I actually think it's a really nice way to review path, pharm, physiology, thrown into a histological context. It's really a good book. But dense, and I *HATE* how (like all in the HY series) the captions are written in tiny print in block-format.

HY cell/molec is great...i got through it in about 2 hours, then turned around and did well on cell/molec Qbank questions (all which covered material in HY)...the only problem i have with it is the population genetics section...it's oversimplified, especially relative to the rediculous Qbank questions i got on the topic (5+ step calculations required to answer the questions correctly).
