Hydrolysis of ATP

On topscore #3-- a question asked " the hydrolysis of ATP from ADP and inorganic phosphate"

answer was "can drive cellular work"

I feel the question is worded incorrectly-- doesn't the hydrolysis of ATP produce ADP and pi?

yeah it's worded badly "FROM" kinda reverse the process which will look
ADP +Pi --> ATP

BUT,..... how does this drive celullar work?

I thought ATP provided the energy for cellular work not ADP as it is suggested by the answer.

I thought the same thing, very poorly worded. The real test, at least my version, was very clear and unambiguous, except for one QR question.
