Hello,

I'm working with pharmacy to create a formulation of dilaudid/bupi for our epidurals. Our current dilaudid formulation comes with citric acid and sodium citrate for buffering and stabilization. It is nonetheless labeled as preservative free. Anyone know whether this is a safe formulation for the epidural space or can point to literature in that regard?

thx

It is safe and I used it both for epidural and intrathecal injections hundreds of times without any problems.
I don't have any published data on the subject though.
It is an off label use and that could be tricky in some places.
